Origin of the Hand Critters 
Where do we come from, you ask? Why, from a hand! Yes, despite our differences, we are all born of the same hand. This is the story of our origin.
It is the hand of a man who started thinking about hands one day, when he was waiting to become a father, and he started dreaming: dreaming of a little hand grasping his, of his hands hugging a new little person. . .and then, when Little A arrived, hands became even more important: hands to pat a sleepy head to sleep, hands to rock, hands to hold and support during first steps. . .hands hands hands. . .where would we be without these handy tools?
So, he thought, what else can come from my hands? And he closed the door (because by now Little A had learned how to talk and walk and sometimes even interrupt her father’s work), and sat down to draw (yes, that is something else that one can do with hands). And out of his hands came the drawing of a hand and right then and there was born the first Hand Critter: Love Hand, the firstborn, the one that started it all (because Love is also a big part of parenthood). And after that first difficult birth out came tumbling more. . .Lions, and Ninjas, and Whales, oh my. . .a whole menagerie of animals, characters and fairy tale figures.

El Origen de las Hand Critters
¿Quieres saber de dónde vinimos? Pues, de una mano, ¡por supuesto! Y, a pesar de nuestras diferencias, todos hemos nacido de la misma mano. Esta es la historia de nuestro origen.
Salimos de la mano de un hombre que empezó a pensar sobre manos un día, cuando estaba a la espera de convertirse en padre, y entonces él comenzó a soñar: con una mano pequeñita sujetando la suya, sus manos de papá abrazando a una nueva personita. . . y luego, cuando la pequeña A. llegó, las manos asumieron un rol aún más importante: para acariciar una cabecita soñolienta de vuelta a dormir, para mecer, manos para sostener y apoyar durante los primeros pasos. . . manos, manos, manos. . . ¿dónde estaríamos sin estas “herramientas” tan útiles?
Así que, pensó, ¿qué otra cosa puede venir de mis manos? Y cerró la puerta (porque ya la pequeña A. había aprendido a hablar y a caminar y, también a interrumpir el trabajo de su papá), y se sentó a dibujar (sí, eso es otra cosa que uno puede hacer con las manos). Y de sus manos salió el dibujo de la primera Hand Critter: la Hand Love, la primogénita, la que empezó todo (porque el amor es una parte muy importante de ser padre). Y después de ese nacimiento vinieron más Critters. . . Leones, Ninjas, y Ballenas. . . toda una colección de animales, personajes y figuras de cuentos de hadas.
