How to cool down

The long hot summer days have definitely arrived at our doorstep. The decrease in the amount of clothes we wear is a sure sign that the time has come for ice cream, visits to the beach, runs through sprinklers, and other creative attempts to keep cool.

How to stay cool in the summer

Each of us has a different mode for cooling off when the high temperatures hit. It might be drinking a refreshing beverage, like iced tea or iced coffee, visiting the air-conditioned shops downtown, or spending a few hours with a friend in the dark and cold room of a movie theater. Some of us who are especially partial to cold climates would actually prefer an airplane ticket to either pole, to experience the ultimate cool down.

The Hand Critters are also suffering from the heat, with some of us much more than others. Consider the walrus, or the snowman, who on these days is looking smaller and smaller.

So, barring any better suggestions, here is our plan for the weekend: we will find a friendly freezer, jump in, drill a hole in the biggest ice cube we can find, and sit inside of it without moving until Monday rolls around (we have jobs too, you know!). Of course, we do not recommend this method to anyone, due to the obvious hazards, but when it’s this hot, you just have to do something to cool down!

We’d love to hear if you have some other (safer!) tips that might work better for cooling down. How do you plan to escape from the heat this weekend and for the remainder of this long hot summer? Let us know with a comment below or on our Facebook page.
