Hairstyles for bees
The decision of which hairstyle to wear is something that can be more or less difficult, depending on several factors: the time of year, current fashion trends, and the characteristics of your own hair.
How do you like your hair?
Of course, if you’re a bee, then there is one more detail to consider: honeybees have hairs on their eyes to help them collect pollen, so your hairstyles must also serve a practical purpose.
Before you change a bee’s hairstyle
Some questions come to mind:
- How long can a bee keep one hairstyle, remaining both fashionable and practical (i.e. continue to collect pollen effectively)?
- Likewise, how short can a bee cut her hair and still pick up enough pollen?
- Since bees are so dependent on their community, is there room for true self-expression such as, for example, a bee who chooses a punk hairdo?
- Will the honey benefits or flavor change, depending on the haircuts?
While we continue to ponder these puzzling questions, we ask you to consider the style that you think would most suit our bee: short or long?
