The discovery of fire marks a great, if not the greatest, discovery in critter evolution. One of our ancestors, the Caveshark, had a role to play in that event, and since then, it has been one of the proudest highlights of our family’s history.
Because today is Ancestor Appreciation Day, celebrated annually on September 27th, we wanted to share a picture of the discovery and our ancestor, and to tell you more about this day.
You can celebrate this day by talking and reflecting on your ancestors, learning more about them and the ways in which they influenced your life. Go and visit your mom, dad, or other relatives, and ask them to tell you more about your family history. You may learn of traditions that have stayed with your family for generations, and of others that have been lost through the years. You will be surprised by some of the things you learn, like when we learned about how our relative discovered fire, and you may just get a better understanding of who you are and where you come from.
