3D movies: love them or hate them?

These days everything around us seems to be in 3D. We are not talking about the reality where all critters live, but about technology, in games, on tv, and 3D movies.

3D movies, like it or not

At the movies

At the movie theater, it’s now very common to receive special glasses along with your ticket. The glasses have evolved in their design, with the latest version looking almost like regular sunglasses, which makes them even stranger looking in the darkness of the theater. We actually prefer the old fashioned two-color, paper glasses. They looked clownishly fun, and after all, that’s what movies are about: fun!

To 3D or not to 3D

Some movies are filmed for 3D, while others are converted to the new technology later, sometimes years after their first opening day. When it comes to superhero or fantasy movies, we can say that almost all deserve the treatment, but of course, only when the story is enriched by it, not when it is just a trick to make you go to the movies.

The Hand Critters are naturally and organically 2D, but, who knows, maybe one day we will also be the stars of a 3D movie.

Now it’s your turn

What do you think about the 3D movie fad? Tell us with a comment, or post it to our Facebook page.

About the Hand Critters

The Hand Critters are an ever-growing family of cute critters made from the outline of their creator’s hand. They are available on gifts such as t-shirts, mugs, ornaments, cases for iPod, iPad and iPhone, and more. When shopping for gifts for yourself, your family or your friends, visit the Hand Critter store for a great selection.

The Hand Critters also star in two ABC books for the little ones at home. We have an edition in English and another in Spanish.
